I was super excited to visit the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
This is one of the largest game reserves in Africa with all kinds of African wild life living in their natural habitat.
I stayed in the Kruger Park at Ngala Safari Lodge. The lodge was absolutely amazing and the game drives were fantastic. I went on a total of 4 game drives during my time here.
I thoroughly enjoyed each game drive! We went on early morning game drives from 6am- 9am and then sunset game drives from 4-7pm. I highly recommend the early morning game drives as its still cool outdoors and the some of the animals are active.
There’s not much more I can say, as words cannot explain our experience. Be sure to view the photos below, along with all the details.
Highlights: Seeing the African big 5 animals (Elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard) along with many other animals. Being in the swimming pool as 2 elephants approached for water from the waterhole in front of the pool.
Things I loved: Being spoilt during the game drives! Morning coffee breaks set up in the Kruger, as well as evening drinks and snacks during the game drive. The food at Ngala was amazing and the hospitality we received from the staff was great!
Essentials to pack: Sunhat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, light sweater for the morning game drives.
Accommodation: Ngala Safari Lodge, Kruger Park
Getting to the Kruger: You can drive from Johannesburg (approximately 4,5 hour drive) alternately there are small chartered flights from OR Tambo airport to the Kruger (There are planes that land in the Nelspruit (nearby Town), or you can arrange with Ngala Safari Lodge to fly directly to the Kruger).
Month visited: February (summer). Peak season at the Kruger is from June – August (winter) as the vegetation is low and it’s easier to spot animals, however we still seen a lot of animals during February.
